Ferrante Wines take top honors at
LA Wine Competition
Two
Ferrante wines win "Best of Division" and "Best of Class"
Ohio
wines continue to impress the world and Ferrante Winery is setting the
standard!
Ferrante wines earned top honors in the prestigious
LA Wine
Competition, including two Best of Division and
Best of Class awards, as well as three gold medals, two silver medals, and
three bronze medals. Ashtabula County-based Ferrante Winery’s 2006 Vidal
Blanc Grand River Valley was named Best of Division – Dessert Wine
(limited production) and Best of Class. Likewise, the 2006 Riesling Grand
River Valley (semi sweet) was chosen as Best in Division – White Wine
(limited production) and Best of Class. Both wines also earned gold
medals.
Ferrante
was the only Ohio winery to win a Best in Division or Best in Class award,
and to top off the barrel, we brought home two!
The 2006 Riesling Golden Bunches (GRV) earned Ferrante’s
third gold medal of the competition. The 2006 Ice Wine Cabernet Franc (GRV)
and 2006 Riesling Signature Series (GRV) took silver. Bronze medals were
awarded to the 2006 barrel-fermented Chardonnay (GRV), the 2006 Chardonnay
(GRV), and the 2006 Pinot Grigio (GRV).
